Why your Google review link matters for local search
Google reviews are one of the strongest ranking signals for local search. Businesses with more recent, high-quality reviews consistently appear higher in the Google Map Pack — the three-result box that shows above organic results for local queries like “mortgage broker near me” or “best cafe in Fitzroy.” The challenge is that most customers intend to leave a review but never follow through, because finding the review form takes too many steps.
A direct review link removes that friction entirely. Instead of asking a customer to search for your business on Google, find the listing, scroll to the reviews section, and click “Write a review,” you give them a single URL that opens the review form immediately. Pair it with a QR code on your counter or in your email signature, and the entire process takes under 30 seconds.
The canonical review URL format — search.google.com/local/writereview?placeid=... — is the same endpoint Google uses internally in its “Get more reviews” feature inside the Google Business Profile dashboard. It is stable, works on every device, and does not depend on any third-party redirect service.

Common questions
How do I get my Google review link?
Type your business name and city into the search bar above. We use Google's Places Autocomplete API to find your listing, then generate the canonical review URL — the same https://search.google.com/local/writereview?placeid=... format that Google uses on its own review page. This URL opens the review form directly, skipping the search step for your customer. You can share it via text message, email, social media, or print it as a QR code. The link works on both desktop and mobile browsers, and it never expires as long as your Google Business Profile stays active.
What's a Google Place ID?
A Place ID is a permanent, unique identifier that Google assigns to every business, landmark, and address indexed in Google Maps. It looks like a string of letters and numbers (e.g. ChIJN1t_tDeuEmsRUsoyG83frY4) and remains stable even if your business name, address, or phone number changes. The review link is built from this ID, so it always points customers to the correct review form — unlike a Google Maps search URL, which can break if another business has a similar name. When you search for your business in our tool, we retrieve the Place ID automatically.
Can I print the QR code for my counter or table?
Yes. Go to the "QR Code & PDF" tab, optionally add a custom message (e.g. "Thanks for visiting — your review helps us help others"), then click "Download A4 PDF." The PDF is print-ready at 300 DPI with a large QR code that scans reliably from counter distance (30-50 cm). Laminate it and place it at your checkout counter, on restaurant tables, at reception desks, or inside appointment reminder cards. The QR code uses H-level error correction, which means it still scans even if part of the code is obscured or slightly damaged.
Does Klinically store my data?
No business data is stored on our servers. The Places API search happens client-side in your browser — we never see or log your search queries or Place IDs. The only data we store is the email address you provide if you choose to use the "Email Me Kit" feature, along with basic metadata (business name, Place ID) so we can generate the PDF attachment. We use this email to send you occasional tips on getting more Google reviews. You can unsubscribe at any time via the link in every email, and we will delete your data on request.
How is this different from a generic QR code generator?
Generic QR generators encode any URL you paste in — they have no idea whether that URL actually opens a Google review form. Our tool starts from your business name, finds the correct Place ID via Google's API, then builds the canonical review URL that Google itself uses. On top of that, you get a complete kit: a high-resolution QR code, a print-ready A4 PDF card with your business name and optional custom message, an HTML email signature snippet you can paste into Gmail or Outlook, and the option to email the entire kit to yourself or your team. Everything is designed specifically for collecting Google reviews, not just encoding a link.
Does the review link work on iPhone and Android?
Yes. The review link opens in any modern mobile browser — Safari on iPhone, Chrome on Android, or any other browser. When a customer taps the link or scans the QR code, it opens the Google review form directly. If they have the Google Maps app installed, some devices may open the review form inside the app instead, which makes leaving a review even easier since the customer is likely already signed into their Google account.
What if my business does not show up in the search?
If your business does not appear in the autocomplete results, it may not yet have a Google Business Profile, or the listing may be unverified. You can claim or create your listing for free at business.google.com. Once Google verifies your business (usually within 1-2 weeks), it will appear in our search and you can generate your review link. Try searching with your exact business name and full city or suburb for the best results.
How long does the QR code last? Does it expire?
The QR code encodes your Google review link directly — there is no redirect service or tracking URL in between. As long as your Google Business Profile is active, the link will work indefinitely. Unlike QR codes from some services that route through a third-party shortener (which can go offline), this QR points straight to Google, so there is no expiry date and no dependency on Klinically staying online.
Can I use this for multiple business locations?
Yes. Run the tool once for each location — search by the specific branch name and suburb (e.g. "Joe Coffee, Fitzroy" then "Joe Coffee, Carlton"). Each location has its own Place ID and therefore its own unique review link and QR code. You can download a separate PDF card for each branch and email each kit to the relevant location manager.
Is this tool free forever?
Yes. The Google Review Link Generator and QR Kit is completely free with no usage limits, no sign-up required, and no watermarks on the QR code or PDF. We built it as a standalone tool for local business owners who want a quick way to collect more Google reviews. If you want to go further — automated review requests after every job, AI-powered review replies, and review source tracking — that is what the full Klinically platform does, starting at $89/month.
